Tourism London & London Music Office present Two Showcases at Canadian Music Week 2016

Tourism London in collaboration with the London Music Office is proud to present two artist showcases at Canadian Music Week 2016 in Toronto. A London is On! country artist showcase will take place on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Cadillac Lounge, 1296 Queen Street and a multi-genre London is On! Showcase will take place on Friday, May 6, 2016 at UG3, 365 King St. West. Tickets for the showcase are on sale at www.cmw.net/music for $10.00 in advance. Both showcases are 19+.

Eat & Drink Norfolk showcases the best of Norfolk County

EatDrinkNorfolk16“Eat & Drink Norfolk” was recently held on Thursday, April 7, Friday, April 8 and Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Aud on the Norfolk County Fairgrounds. Held for the 7th year in a row, the three day event saw record crowds of over 4500 fill the Aud. Over 40 vendors from throughout Norfolk County served a wide variety of delectable food, wine, and beer while watching the antics of the Fairly Fat Guys on stage and listening to a number of local favourite musicians including With the Dudes, Maddie Ball, Felicia McMinn, Evan Champagne and Grey Sky. “We are grateful for the support we get from the community for this fundraiser. After seven years, we continue to see people attending for the first time and hear them say they wished they had been coming all along. We also have fans who attend all three days to be sure they sample all that’s available!” stated Special Events Manager Chantal Zorad.

 

“Eat & Drink Norfolk” was recently named one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals & Events for the second year in a row. “This prestigious provincial recognition is proof that we’re doing all of the right things to provide a memorable experience.” stated Zorad.

Eat & Drink Norfolk – GET A TASTE OF NORFOLK

March 31, 2016 Simcoe – The Norfolk County Agricultural Society is excited to announce that “Eat & Drink Norfolk” is back for its seventh consecutive year. Dates for this year’s event are Thursday, April 7th from 5:00 pm to 10pm

, Friday, April 8h from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and open again on Saturday April 8th from 12 noon until 10:00 pm.

 

Continuing to ride the wave of success, “Eat & Drink Norfolk” was recently named one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals & Events for the second year in a row. “The community has wholeheartedly supported this event from its very first year. This support along with the dedication of our vendors, staff, volunteers and sponsor partners has resulted in a truly amazing event. Being named one of the Top 100 Festivals & Events in Ontario is icing on the cake” states Zorad.

Ontario’s Southwest 2015 Year In Review

2015 was a great year for the tourism industry as a whole in Canada, Ontario, and especially here in Ontario’s Southwest. Marketing continues to promote and help bring a growing amount of interest for our region’s amazing product offerings with more ambitious campaigns each year. A brand new, completely refreshed regional consumer website was launched and we introduced a free to use online media library tool. We worked closely with partners on numerous projects to expand our region’s offerings, and we facilitated learning opportunities for partners to help strengthen our tourism workforce. A big thank you to all of our partners, we couldn’t have accomplished any of this without you.

2016 Top 100 Festivals & Events in Ontario Announced by FEO

Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO) is proud to announce the 2016 Top 100 Festivals & Events in Ontario. Included in the Top 100 are the Festivals & Events of Distinction representing a select group of the most well-known and respected celebrations in the province; celebrations which draw both an international and domestic audience. An asterisk identifies the Level of Distinction festivals and events.

Vrancor Opens Hampton Inn by Hilton Sarnia/Point Edward, Ontario

Vrancor Group, a leading Canadian Hospitality and Development Company, announced the opening of its newest hotel, the six-storey, 95-room Hampton Inn by Hilton Sarnia/Point Edward. The hotel is the latest addition to the Hampton Inn by Hilton brand of more than 2,000 mid-priced hotels. Located at 1492 Venetian Blvd. in Point Edward, Ontario, Canada, the hotel is close to the international border crossing across from Port Huron, Michigan, connecting the United States to Canada via the spectacular Blue Water Bridge.

Winter Bites is Here!

Winter is here and that means Winter Bites Restaurant Week is back! During Winter Bites Restaurant Week, January 11 to January 17, 2016, diners can visit participating restaurants and indulge in a 3-course meal starting at only $10. Participants can dine on prix-fixe menus with $10, $15, $25 or $35 options. Each restaurant will offer a unique Winter Bites menu where diners can select from a variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts.

 

“Winter Bites Restaurant Week has become a popular event with locals but we even have visitors from outside Windsor Essex take advantage and visit the great eateries we have here during the week,” explains Adriano Ciotoli, co-owner of WindsorEats, a food and drink guide for Windsor-Essex. “The week gives customers great value when dining out but also provides a considerable economic boost for participating restaurants in what is traditionally a slower time.”

Tourism Oxford relaunches Oxford County Cheese Trail

cheesetrailnewMore cheese, exciting flavours and new experiences have arrived in Oxford County with the relaunch of the Oxford County Cheese Trail. The new trail delves even further into Oxford County’s rich dairy heritage and provides visitors with more opportunities to explore and savour its flavours.

 

The Oxford County Cheese Trail was initially launched in 2013 in response to a growing interest in culinary tourism. Since then, countless residents and visitors have taken the self-guided tour, sampling local cheese and dairy products and exploring shops, restaurants and museums along the way. The updated trail offers a variety of new cheese- and dairy-themed offerings, providing an enhanced experience for visitors.
