Cycle Tourism is BIG in Windsor Essex – and it’s about to get bigger with the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge and their dedicated pedestrian lanes, connecting visitors from the U.S. to Canada by bike (or foot).

Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island has big plans for late-2025 in 2026 profiling cycle tourism to both Canadian and U.S. travellers, including:

  • relaunch of our interactive maps at visitwindsoressex.com/bike

  • a refreshed Cycle Tourism Map with trail enhancements and connectivity using the Gordie How International Bridge

  • branding of cycle tourism in the forefront of our targeted campaigns

  • familiarization tours

  • content creator visits
