Are you applying for a funding opportunity or an industry award? A Letter of Support can help strengthen your application by demonstrating regional alignment, sector relevance, and community support — giving reviewers added confidence in your project or nomination.

If you're operating within Ontario’s Southwest (RTO 1), we're happy to review your request and, where appropriate, provide a letter that:

  • Reinforces regional tourism priorities

  • Highlights the significance of your work to Ontario’s Southwest

  • Supports your efforts to secure funding or recognition

What types of applications can a Letter of Support be used for?
Letters of Support can be requested for:

  • Government funding programs

  • Grant applications

  • Industry awards and recognition programs

  • Other tourism-related opportunities where regional support may strengthen the submission

Who Can Request a Letter of Support?

  • Tourism businesses, individuals, organizations, or projects located within Ontario’s Southwest
    (RTO 1 boundaries).

  • Applicants pursuing funding, grants, or industry awards related to tourism, hospitality, or visitor economy growth.

Does receiving a Letter of Support guarantee that my application will be successful?
No. A Letter of Support is intended to complement your application, but funding decisions and award selections are made by the program administrators.

How far in advance should I submit my request?
We recommend submitting your request at least 10 business days prior to your application deadline. This allows sufficient time for review and preparation.

Will every request receive a letter?
Not necessarily. Each request is reviewed based on alignment with Ontario’s Southwest priorities, the quality of the application, and our capacity to support at the time of request.

What information do I need to provide when submitting my request?
We ask that you include:

  • Name of the funding program or award

  • Application deadline

  • Description of your project or nomination

  • How your project supports tourism growth in Ontario’s Southwest

  • Any relevant supporting documents
